Job Description
The SEP applicant will be involved with developing, implementing and facilitating summer and recreation programing for persons with disabilities in Thunder Bay. The student will work within a team of staff to plan and implement our recreation program.  The programming is intended to be eclectic and diverse, including fine arts, music, culinary, healthy living and healthy choices, and will promote active living in the Thunder Bay community.  This inclusive programming will encourage participation and self-determination while building confidence in each participant, and inspire individual strengths and talents.

Qualifications

  • Friendly, outgoing, personable

  • Strong communication skills

  • Can maintain a professional and friendly customer service stance

  • Works well independently and part of a team

Eligibility

To be eligible for the SEP, students hired must be currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution or within 6 months of graduation. Applicants must also be between the ages of 15-25, or up to 29 years for persons with disabilities.

Terms of Employment

  • Temporary Full-time (not to exceed 35 hours per week), Provides coverage Monday to Friday;

  • Time Limited Contract (8 weeks) – Must be available to start work July 3, 2017

  • Salary: $11.40 hourly
