Work Environment
The Independent Living Resource Centre (ILRC) Thunder Bay is a cross-disability, non-clinical/non-medical non-profit organization currently celebrating its 30th anniversary in Thunder Bay. We provide a rich and diverse set of programming that is primarily self-directed by the participants of the programming.

We are currently recruiting an energetic, creative and genuine person to facilitate all aspects of our Recreation Programming. The successful applicant will develop, implement and facilitate recreation programming for persons with disabilities visiting our Centre. Recreation programming at IRLC Thunder Bay currently combines exciting workshops in a variety of areas, such as art, crafting, fitness, cooking, and much more. Our Full-Day Drop-In Connectors Program each Wednesday is well subscibed to and has a vibrant following.  There are a variety of ways that the successful applicant will enrich this programming with their own creativity and ideas.

Eligibility
This is a Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) Internship, to be eligible you must meet the following criteria: 

Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university. Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in Northern Ontario for at least one year are also eligible. 

Mature graduates may be considered.

Conditions of Employment

  • The use of a vehicle is required to attend to off-site events;
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license; 

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time (not to exceed 35 hours per week), Provides coverage Monday to Friday;
  • Time Limited Contract, 1 Year (52 weeks)
  • Salary: $16.85-$17.50
  • Must be availble immediately
