Peer

What is 'Peer' To Us?

The way in which our ILRC views the term 'Peer' is simple.  A peer is an equal; as we are all equals.  How we deliver on this premise however, is unique.  Our Peer Program brings together people within our centre in a comfortable, fun and sometimes even informative enviorment to share and be involved in activity.  Our Peer Program has never been delivered locally the way it is now: it is inclusive to all people and offers a massively wide variety of activities for all intrests.  We cook; we skate; we bowl; we read; we craft; we excerise; we sew; we do photography; we play musical instruments; we listen to our members.  Peer is constantly changing and becoming stronger and better.

What is 'Peer' To You?

  • It can be a great place to meet new friends or have fun with old friends.
  • It can be a chance to learn a fun new hobby.
  • It can be simply an opportunity to get out and do something.

Who Can Join and What Is the Cost?

Any person with any disability can join or even volunteer with our Peer Program.  It is an informal group of individuals, and we constantly adapt and add new activities to meet the demand of our members.  Currently there is no cost associated with being involved with our Peer Group.  As we add more elaborate and expensive outtings, members may be asked to contribute to expences on an event by event basis.
