Financial Literacy Outreach
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is the ability to understand finance. More specifically, it refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions through their understanding of finances. These decisions range from simple daily spending and budgeting, to choices of insurance, banking, to saving for retirement, home ownership, and post secondary education.
ILRC is committed to assisting our consumers in educating themselves when it comes to their financial literacy. Over the past few years, ILRC has partnered with the Canadian Government in two (2) major programs to help educate persons with disabilities:
Although the RESP Program has wrapped up after three (3) years with great success, we are committed to continuing to educate our consumers about this government program and the assistance it provides for families.
ILRC continues to do RDSP outreach in Thunder Bay and region and would be happy to assist our consumers with any questions that they may have. Please follow the links to the RDSP page to learn more.
