Completed Projects
We don't believe that our Programs are our only job: we are always involved in numerous exciting and informative Projects. We make a distinction between Programs and Projects, because we believe there is a difference. Our core set of services that we continue to nurture and grow as long term, sustainable services are known as Programs , whereas our shorter term, research based endeavours are known as Projects.
We attain Projects in many ways, but primarily through our efforts of proposal submissions. Our national organization, Independent Living Canada (formerly Canadian Association of Independent Living Centres), administers many Projects on a national level that we are oftentimes selected as one of the regions to administer. We continually author proposals in an effort to fill identified gaps and do regional research on our own. We are oftentimes successful at this, and have performed and completed numerous projects that have been born in our Centre through a very collaborative process.
We have successfully sustained and completed the following projects exclusively from within our Centre:
- Independent Living Canada - Promising Practices
- Regional Hotel and Restaurant Accessibility Online Survey and Analysis
- Regional Marketing and Information Delivery System of Programs and Services for Seniors
- Leisure Resource Thunder Bay Online Survey and Analysis
- Legal Literacy Resource Development and Full Day Workshop
- Access To Justice Resource Development
- Rick Hansen - Wheels in Motion Event
- In Our Shoes - Awareness Event
