The benefits that you will enjoy once engaged with the Creating Employability Options Program are numerous.  You'll participate in meaningful, up-to-date pre-employment and skill development based workshops that focus on the essential skills employers are looking for.  You will be given hands-on guidance to help you achieve your goals.  You will have access to our entire centre, complete with professional Computer Lab, Business Plan & Resume Development Private Lab and more!  Visit the Skill Development  section of this website for more information.

All you have to do is meet our simple eligibility requirements, as set our by our funder, Service Canada.
To participate in CEO you must:

1. Be 16 years of age or older - there is no limit to how old you can be.
2. Be self-disclosed as having a disability - We DO NOT require medical verification 
3. Be unemployed or under-employed - working less than 20 hours per week
4. Non-EI eligibility requirements - you can not be eligible for Employment Insurance Benefits

If you are unsure of any of these eligibility requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us. Every new participant's EI eligibility is checked during your first meeting with us, and is something we can assist you with.

What Opportunities Are Out There For Me?

This is the most popular question we receive. The simple answer is this: ANYTHING YOU WANT!  But first, what is an opportunity? Different places and programs oftentimes define 'opportunity' differently from one to the other, and it is usually very complicated. Let us simplify that: AT OUR CENTRE, ANYTHING CAN BE AN OPPORTUNITY!  It is not just about full-time employment and wage subsidies! We are able to help fund some participants with education and courses; with finding a great volunteer opportunity on your terms; help fund your living expenses while you develop a business plan or business; help you train for, find, secure and maintain a full-time job; and more.  We don't limit what opportunities are out there: we help you find them. 

Do You Want a Part-Time, Casual or Even a Volunteer Opportunity?

Of course it's great to assist people in finding full-time opportunities, but we know that not everyone is prepared for that at the beginning.  We work to find the opportunity that suits you and your needs: not ours! We believe any opportunity can benefit our participants journey to success and furthermore, 'experience' comes in many forms. CEO is capable and willing to support ANY PERSON with a disability who wants to pursue an opportunity and meets our simple eligibility requirements. 

Our Commitment to You and the Community:

The CEO Program is a large program that has been developed by our Centre for all persons with disabilities, but it is not all that we are about.  We approach each person and the community at large in a personal, hands-on way: looking to better everyone's understanding of disabilities in general while promoting inclusion and accessibility along the way.  Our vastly experienced staff approaches the things we do as a Centre wholly.  We work with people and the community as a group, bringing forth and combining our widely varying backgrounds and experience to each and every task.  You can learn more about us by visiting the Staff Profiles section of this website.
