CEO Employment Program

What is CEO?
Creating Employability Options (CEO), is an employment program funded by the Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities through Service Canada to assist persons with disabilities to actively and competitively participate in the labour force. This program will assist you in finding employment that is right for you! We work with each participant on an individual basis and help you put a plan in place that works for you and your potential employers.
To be eligible for the CEO Program, you must:
- be over 16 years of age
- be a person with a disability
- be ineligible for Employment Insurance Benefits
- work less than 20 hours per week
CEO has four parts:
- Skills for Employment (Tuition)
- Self-Employment
- Employment for Participants
- Employment for Employers
Skills for Employment (Tuition)
If you need assistance in getting the skills or education required for the job you want, our CEO Program could be for you. Whether it's a First Aid Course, specialized training, computer skills or you are looking to start a full time college program; our staff can be an excellent resource in both assisting in planning and organizing your path to your future.
Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify.
Self-Employment
If you have a skill or idea that you would like to turn into a business, this program may be able to help. Our staff can assist you in organizing your ideas into a business plan and help get you on your way to marketing yourself and earning some extra income.

Employment for Participants
Are you ready to start looking for a job? This program can support you through that process. In addition to educating employers on disability and accommodation, we also offer assistance with resume writing, cover letters, interview skills, job search and more.

Employment for Employers
If you are looking to hire, we may be able to help. We have a large pool of qualified candidates eager to join the workforce and demonstrate their ability. We are interested in more than just placing people. We offer education and training on disability and accommodation to assist you in making the right choice when it comes to hiring. Whether you are looking to fill a full-time, part-time or casual position, the benefits of working with the ILRC are endless.
Training/hiring incentives may be available for employers/participants that qualify.
Supports that may be available to you through this program:
- pre-employment services such as: resume, cover letter, interview skills
- job search
- job application assistance
- job coaching
- special clothing et. uniform, work books, hard hat, etc.
- other specific items you may need for work eg. accommodation equipment, assistive devices
- specialized training eg. First Aid / CPR, computer course, WHMIS, Smart Serve, etc.
- financial assistance with post secondary tuition or books
- self-employment funding
** Please note: this program does not fund items such as computers, laptops, vehicles, vehicle repairs, rent, bill payments, etc.**
