Breaking Barriers - Building Bridges
ILRC is proud to be a partner in the Breaking Barriers - Building Bridges program with PARO, Ontario March of Dimes and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). This program was developed to help persons with disabilities start their own business. The participants are guided through the process with assistance from all agencies. ILRC and PARO work closely with the participants to make sure that they achieve their goals of entrepreneurship.
To be eligible for this program, you must:

be 16 years of age or older

be a resident of Ontario
- have a disability that is expected to last one (1) year or more

you do NOT have to be in receipt of ODSP Income Supports to qualify for this program
Through this program, you may also be eligible for:
- a Work- Related Benefit to assist with costs such as transportation to work or work clothing
- the Employment Transition Benefit
- help with Child Care Costs
- Disability-Related Work Expenses
- Employment and Training Start Up Benefit
- financial assistance to start your business
Supports available to you through this program:
- develop a business plan
- training in money management
- training in record keeping
- mentoring
- marketing and advertising your business
- networking
